Hillsborough Cup-A-Joe Website

The ECC office is in Historic Downtown Hillsborough, North Carolina. A regular treat is to walk into the Cup-A-Joe coffee shop on King Street and get an oat-milk cappuccino (sunny and cool weather), a non-dairy iced coffee (sunny and hot weather) or a London Fog (rainy and cold weather).

When Brooke and Ryan, owners of Cup-A-Joe, reached out to have their website built, the answer was a quick Yes! These two have a wonderful playful sense that they fuse into their business, as well as a love for art, both fine and funky. We immediately found a fantastic working relationship and got down to it.

Building a website for a client will get their brand out to the world. I prefer to create sites using platforms that my clients will be able to understand and run themselves, as it eliminates the back and forth check-ins and minor updates later on in the relationship. From a business perspective, some clients prefer this and we set up a contract that reflects regular maintenance. Most clients want to buy a product (the site), pay for it, and move on. The education I share with my clients allows them this option with confidence, and they’re always welcome to pick my brain if there is something they are having difficulty with.

Brooke and Ryan needed a functional online store during the Spring/Summer of 2020. They were keeping their business open during COVID-19 and creating a safe and healthy space for their clients to pick up orders in front of their brick and mortar location. While drinks and baked goods were selling out through the Cloosiv app, their shop merchandise and bulk coffee offerings were not.

We created a custom shop for Cup-A-Joe that let them sell these items for pick-up, but also gave their customers the option of having things shipped to their home. Creating custom forms for whole bean coffee and grind preferences, as well as required information for batch drink pickups. Not only can they move more product, but they can be confident that their customers are staying safe and well stocked, wherever they are.
